This 10 Day Safari covers visit Julius Nyerere ( formerly called Selous), Udzungwa, Ruaha & Mikumi Parks. Its perfect adventure for wildlife enthusiasts, serious safari-goers or newcomers alike. This journey promises the best that Southern Tanzania has to offer with an amazing selection of iconic parks and reserves for you to experience of game drive, boat safari, walking safari & hiking before proceeding to Zanzibar.
It is one of the most pristine wildernesses still remaining in Africa, with a wide variety of wildlife habitats, including open grasslands, Miombo woodlands, swamps and riverine forests in the many tributaries of the mighty Rufiji River which flows through the National Park to the Indian Ocean.
It is a stronghold of the African wild dog. Other wildlife seen here include the big 5, wildebeest, eland, the greater kudu, sable antelopes, black rhino, waterbuck, impala, , the spotted hyena, cheetah, baboon, vervet and blue monkey, and the black and white colobus monkey which can be viewed in riverine forests. About 440 species of birds both resident and migratory have been observed in the national park.
It is rich in wildlife including the big 5 , wildebeest, zebra, , impala,baboon, giraffe, warthog, waterbuck and eland which can be viewed throughout the year. Reptiles including crocodile, monitor lizard and python are also resident in the park. Other animals that can be sighted although rare are the Sable Antelope resident in the southern part of the park bordering the Selous, the Greater Kudu, leopard, and the wild dog also known as the African Hunting Dog. More than 400 bird species have been recorded, including European migrants during the rainy season.
This area is also characterized by savannah vegetation dotted with acacia, baobab, tamarinds, and some rare palm.
This is wilderness rich in flora and fauna, and contains a wide variety of animals that includes Greater and Lesser Kudu, roan and sable antelopes.It is famous for its herds of elephant and buffaloes. The Ruaha River, provides sanctuary to a large number of hippos and crocodiles. During dry season it attracts great quantities of game including lions, leopard, hunting or wild dog, impala, waterbuck, warthog, giraffe, and elands. The park is also rich in bird life with over 450 bird species recorded.

It is a rare tropical forest that is home to a realm of unique plants, birds and animals & the sacred preserve of hikers and walkers. These forests are remarkably unspoilt, brings walkers to the spectacular 170 m drop of Sanje Waterfalls. The park is a home of an important population of primates(more than 10species) as well as the grey faced sengi.
After breakfast, you will be picked and driven to Nyerere National Park with a picnic lunch on the way. Arrive in the late afternoon and go on a boat safari where you’ll spot hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitats.

After breakfast,you will do a full-day game drive with our professional drivers and guide in Nyerere National Park (formerly known as Selous Game Reserve).Â
Today, you will enjoy seeing animals including elephant, zebra, giraffe, antelope, and many more.
You will also see birds and landscape scenery with varied topography including wetlands, dry grassland, light acacia forest, and higher ground with vast views of far-off mountains. In the afternoon, you will have your packed lunch and some time to rest. We then continue with the game drive until evening when you will return to Africa Safari Selous for dinner and sleep, preparing for the next day.Â

Drive to Morogoro for local market and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you go to Udzungwa Mountains National Park for hiking at the waterfalls. You will receive a briefing on arrival, and then start your hike in the forest mountains. From the top of the waterfall, you have a great view of the enormous Kilombero Sugarcane Valley, one of the biggest sugarcane plantations in Tanzania. In the afternoon, you will have a packed lunch. After breakfast, you will leave with packed lunches and drive to the Ruaha National Park from Udzungwa Mountains National Park for 7-8 hours. On arrival inRuaha National Park, you will enjoy an evening game drive with a nice view of the Ruaha River valley, and great animal sightings like kudu, wildebeests, elephants, zebras, lions, hippos, hartebeests, impalas, antelopes, giraffes, buffalos. After a guided game drive in the evening, you'll drive to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.Â

After breakfast, our driver will pick you up for a full day's game drive at Ruaha National Park. You will get a packed lunch and time to rest in the afternoon. From here, you will go on a game drive until sunset. Then, you will be transferred back to Ruaha Bandas for dinner, sleep, and preparation for the next day's game drive.
Option : Morning walk with rangers and night game drive.Â

The journey will start from Ruaha early in the morning when our professional driver will pick you up and drive to Mikumi National Park. On arrival, you will learn how to make a fire with sticks and also learn more about the Maasai. You'll explore the places where most of them live and experience their traditions and customs. After the safari, head back to your camp to prepare for the next day's activities.Â

After breakfast, you will head out to Mikumi National Park for a full-day game drive. Experience the wonderful animals like lion, eland and buffalo that can be found here. The Mikumi Floodplain is the main feature of the park bordering the mountain ranges. In the afternoon, you will have time for lunch, before continuing with the game drive until the evening. Return to the camp to prepare for the next day's scheduled activities. Accommodation: Camp Bastian MikumiÂ
