About Zanzibar

Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous archipelago located off the coast of Tanzania in East Africa. It is composed of several islands, with the main ones being Unguja (often referred to as Zanzibar Island) and Pemba Island. Zanzibar has a rich history as a center of trade and a melting pot of diverse cultures due to its strategic location along ancient trading routes. It was an important hub for trade in spices, ivory, and slaves. Today, Zanzibar is known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, historical Stone Town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and thriving tourism industry.
