NB: Any scheduled departure can be booked as a private safari and/or combined with other services. Should we not be able to confirm the exact itinerary, we will always try to offer alternatives to the request including changes of routing or similar accommodation.
Upon arrival into Nairobi, clients will be met and transferred by the hotel shuttle to the 67 Airport Hotel. (Early morning arrivals before 05:00 hours must look for the rep from 67 Airport Hotel at the airport for the transfers). Afternoon at leisure. Accommodation at 67 Airport Hotel L in a Standard Room on a bed and breakfast basis (Check in time is 1400 hrs.) Depending on time of arrival clients may choose to add an optional excursion.
Leaving Nairobi after breakfast, you travel towards Kenya's fertile highlands and head down the rift escarpment on the road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II. On the way spot the charming chapel built at the foot of the escarpment. Pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the valley to Narok, continue your travels across acres of wheat and barley, before reaching the Masai Mara in time for lunch. Following lunch set off on your first game drive, returning to the camp as the sun sets. Accommodation at Talek Bush Camp or Sentrim Mara Lodge Camp on full board basis Masai Mara National Reserve Masai Mara National Reserve is a large wildlife reserve located in southwestern Kenya, bordering Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. It covers an area of about 1,510 square kilometres and is named after the Maasai people who inhabit the area. The reserve is renowned for its diverse wildlife and is home to a vast array of animals including the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), as well as numerous other species such as zebras, giraffes, hyenas, wildebeest, and many others. Masai Mara is also known for the annual wildebeest migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles cross the Mara River in search of fresh grazing. The reserve offers a range of activities for visitors including game drives, hot air balloon rides, and cultural experiences with the Maasai people. Talek bush camp or Sentrim Mara Camp Sentrim Mara is located in Maasai Mara Game Reserve, 3 km after Sekenani gate. The entire 31 tents are spread out in serene surroundings amongst Acacia trees that surround the camp. The main guest area consists of the reception, lounge area, restaurant and bar. Each of the spacious tents has a modern ensuite bathroom, hot and cold showers, writing desk and an elevated private balcony for spectacular views of the sunsets and the hills, which have abundant wildlife. The tents have personal closets, flush toilets and sockets for battery charging for cameras.
Following an early breakfast, depart on a morning game drive, returning to the camp mid-morning. After lunch, and perhaps a siesta, set off on another game drive and visit to the Masai Village, returning to the camp as the sunsets. Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast travel across the ‘breadbasket’ of Kenya, where acres of wheat and barley litter the landscape as you head north to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. Now travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley, arriving at your lodge at Lake Elementaita around midday. Following lunch, depart for a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, returning to your lodge at the sun sets. The national park, known for its birdlife, offers a possibility to view flamingoes. It is also home to Black and White rhinos, as well as the endangered Rothschild Giraffe. Accommodation at Sentrim Elementaita Lodge on full board basis Sentrim Elementaita Lodge is located on the shores of Lake Elementaita, situated about 120 Kilometers from Nairobi. If you are a bird lover, and in search of African safari lodges, then the country lodge is the perfect place for you to experience one of the world’s largest ornithological spectacles.
Following an early breakfast, continue to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride. Leaving the Rift Valley behind, proceed to Nairobi for an early lunch (or picnic lunch dependent on road conditions) and continue south towards Amboseli, arriving at your camp by late afternoon. Accommodation at Sentrim Amboseli Camp on full board basis Amboseli National Park The park covers an area of about 392 square kilometres and is famous for its spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa. The park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. It is also home to over 400 bird species, making it a popular destination for birdwatchers. Amboseli is known for its large elephant herds, which are some of the largest in Africa, and visitors can observe these majestic animals up close on game drives. The park also offers stunning landscapes, including swamps, savannah, and acacia woodlands, and visitors can enjoy hot air balloon rides for a bird's eye view of the park and Mount Kilimanjaro. Sentrim Amboseli Camp is located on the border of Amboseli National Park, right near Kimana gate. The entirely new 60 luxurious and comfortable deluxe en suite tents are evenly spread out with fantastic view of Mt Kilimanjaro.
After breakfast, depart for a full day game drive; later enjoy a picnic lunch. Return to the lodge by 16:00, giving time to unwind in your room or lounge, or even take a quick dip in the pool before dinner. Accommodation at Sentrim Amboseli Camp on full board basis
Following an early breakfast, catch your last views of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro as you depart Amboseli. You travel by road to the Namanga border where you will say goodbye to your Kenya driver/guide and perhaps some of your fellow travellers who will return to Nairobi. You meet your Tanzanian transfer driver and travel by road to Arusha where you have lunch (excludes drinks). You meet any other travellers joining the trip in Arusha and continue to Tarangire National Park. Arrive at the tented lodge in the late afternoon for time at leisure, dinner and overnight. Accommodation Tarangire safari lodge depending with the availability on full board basis Tarangire National Park The park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it and is known for its large herds of elephants and diverse wildlife. The park covers an area of 2,850 square kilometres and is home to over 550 bird species, as well as lions, leopards, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and many more animals. The park is also known for its baobab trees and picturesque views of the Maasai Steppe and the Rift Valley. It is a popular destination for wildlife safaris and outdoor adventure activities. Tarangire Safari lodge depending with the availability. Tarangire National Park is a gem on the northern safari circuit. Teeming with wildlife, especially in the dry season, this area is a safari-goers dream. The camp is located near the Sangaiwe Gate of Tarangire National Park. The spacious tents are constructed on platforms complete with wooden floors, large en- suite dressing room, toilet and shower. There are twin and queen tents; triples are possible. There is also a family tent with two queen-sized beds. Additionally, there is an outdoor shower, and each tent has a private veranda with views to the bush and Lake Burunge. Furnishings are handcrafted from African hardwood complimented with tastefully selected fabrics; electricity and hot water are solar powered.
Morning game drive and lunch at the lodge. Then depart Tarangire Region, you drive through the surrounding bushland, passing small Maasai villages and farms. The road is mostly unpaved but well-maintained, with occasional bumps and dips. After about 20 minutes, you will reach the town of Makuyuni, where you will turn left onto the main road that leads to Lake Manyara, the Great African Rift Valley and onto Karatu town. This road is paved and in good condition, and it winds through lush green hills and valleys, offering stunningthe surrounding landscapes. As you approach Karatu town, you will see small markets and shops along the roadside. Karatu town is a small and bustling town, known for its proximity to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and its vibrant local market. On arrival at your lodge check in and remainder of the day at leisure Accommodation Karatu Simba Lodge on full board basis Karatu Simba Lodge Tented Rooms Located between Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro, Karatu Simba Lodge is nestled up against the lush Ngorongoro Forest Reserve. Travellers can take a break from the safari trail to experience a taste of rural Tanzanian life, relax and enjoy the changing rhythm and landscape of the seasons. Sleep under the Southern Cross listening to the call of bush babies and montane night jars.
Early departure from your lodge and enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Climb the back wall of the crater and continue to the rim of the crater and descend to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. You game drive in this paradise. With a space of only 102 square miles and a resident wildlife population of more than 30,000 mammals, there is a great chance that you might see all of the big five. A picnic lunch box is provided at a scenic location within the floor of the crater. In the afternoon, you return to the rim of the crater and continue to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation Karatu Simba Lodge on full board basis Ngorongoro Conservation Area The Ngorongoro Crater is home to an estimated 30,000 animals, making it one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in the world. The area is also home to the Maasai people, who have lived in the area for centuries and still practice their traditional way of life. In addition to the wildlife, the area is known for its stunning landscapes, including the Ngorongoro Crater, the Olduvai Gorge, and the Empakai Crater. Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular destination for wildlife safaris and outdoor adventure activities.
Following breakfast, depart your lodge and begin your journey back to Arusha arriving in the city for lunch (excludes drinks). Then transfer to Arusha airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight (flight not included). End of services.
